I know that Crafty has 2 different parameters hash and hashp I remember that hashp should be 1/8 of hash or something like it. hash+hashp is not the important number. If you cannot give hash 24 and hashp 3 like your previous games it is probably better to give crafty half of it and not 24Mb hash and 16kb hashp. I do not see the problem in using hash 24 and hashp 3. It gives Crafty only a small advantage in hash tables and I believe that the programmer of tiger has no problem with it because the difference between 24 mbytes and 27 mbytes hash tables is not significant.
