Subject: ERT + Winboard + Tournament levels warning

The beauty of software developement.... The engine research tool just
uncovered a bug in the CP/RT Winboard adapter; from the rebel board:

question:

I tried ert beta 2.
(a) Try : crafty vs gambit tiger
with time control set at 40 moves in 90 minutes

when match starts, crafty console says is
20 moves in 90 minutes for primary time control
and
20 moves in 90 minutes for secondary time control

is this a bug because total time would be 40 moves in 180 minutes, no?
(also observed when using ert beta 1)

answer:

The problem is mapping of RT/CP levels to winboard levels, it incorrectly
assumed the number of moves where specified in ply's and thus divides them by 2.
I will create an updated winboard adapter. For the moment you can use the
following workaround:
Edit the engineext.ini file, the Level1= parameter string. In that string the %4
parameter represents the number of moves, just replace this %4 by the number of
moves, e.g. 40. This will of course affect all tournaments levels, but most of
them have 40 moves.
