How does one select a Winboard engine with the new ert.exe ?

Currently I have a minimal engineext.ini containing only Gandalf for test
purposes.

With the 1st beta I could choose the Winboard Adapter for play and everything
was fine .

With the new one when I try to choose "Winboard Engines" there happens simply
nothing , not even an error message .

This on PII300 running NT 4 SP3 .
