Maybe I'm not in the wrong place; maybe you're in the wrong place :)

Well, point is NOT whether I'll be satisfied with Fritz or not. That is
irrelevant. I want to hire a freelance programmer to build a better open source
frontend to winboard engines w/ features I want. If you think that's silly, I
could care less. It's my money. Fritz ain't open source. And from the opinion
of someone else here, I wouldn't have to feel guilty about cutting into
Chessbase's profits by spurring the development of an open source frontend that
replaces that winboard piece of shit.

Point of my inquiry here is simply to find the RIGHT GUY to do it for MONEY.
And also get an idea about what amount MONEY it would take. Get it?

I don't even care about linux vs. windows, really -- just as long as it's open
source. I'm already talking to a guy where I live who would be willing to do
it. He seems to want $1,000 to create a full-fledged multiboard frontend to
winboard engines and says he can do it in 30 days - in either VB or Delphi,
though. That price to me seems a bit high. But then I am not surprised either.
Based on what he is saying, I am actually drawing up a plan and list of the
menus and features I want. We'll see what he says then.
