I do not think that you are right.
I know that Crafty tries to avoid blocked positions but I do not know that the
situation is the same for other programs.

No
I do not believe in it.

Even Crafty has analyzing mode when it does not try to avoid blocking the
position.

You can use computer to analyze in this positions.

I do not know which program is best in closed positions but
I read here that Gandalf is the good in closed positions.

Why do you think that programs are going to try to unblock the position?

Only programmers who are interested in comp-human games and not in comp-comp
games may try to do it and I believe that most of the programmers of the
commercial programs are interested in comp-comp games because the ssdf list is
based on comp-comp games.
