Eugen Hi Thorsten, I would be interested which of the above programs - use which GUI - use tablebases - use what opening book I am not sure for example which opening book Crafty will be using. Maybe you can create a spreadsheet with the following informations included: Program GUI Opening book Egtb ----------------------------------------------------------- Nimzo 8 Fritz 6 Nz8Book.ctg Yes Crafty 17.4 Fritz 6 ??? Yes : I would strongly recommend to let Genius 3 play instead of Genius 6.5. From my own experience it is the strongest version. As I suggested in a different thread i would like to provide Genius 3 with a special opening book so that it has no problems to compete with todays top programs ;-) Greetings Alex
