I think that I see your point now; you are wondering why the laws of statistics apply here. It reminds me on measuring a physical quantity. Even there, the results will scatter around the true value. In order to minimize the statistical variance of the result, independent teams have to repeat the experiment. Hopefully not complete nonsense, what I'm writing ? Uli
