I studied these games and noted which engine I thought "played better", according to my own chess values. You may judge the worth of my opinions by my modest USCF rating of 1803. THE VAMOSAVERLAS QUALITY POINTS WINNER: Century 3 +12 -6 =6 What is the meaning of this? While the question "which is best", among the top programs, becomes problematical and impractical to answer, the question "which do I like best" can often be answered decisively. This is the same judgement we must make when we study the best human players of the past, and it is a fun hobby. I advise those of you who are shopping for a program to use your own judgement, and follow this method.
