Subject: CM 5555 vs. 5500

Author: Kai Lübke

Date: 02:36:54 02/04/98

Since there has been some speculation as to whether the so-called
"Walter-Pilz" settings improve CM 5500's performance or not, I've
run some games with it in CM's autoplayer mode against the "standard"
CM 5500 personality.
(Coincidentally, this duel was also the final of my most recent
big computer tournament.)

Conditions: P6-200, 64 MB; both were using 16 MB hash; 60 min/game

Contestants: CM 5500
CM 5555 (CM 5500 with Walter-Pilz settings and modified
piece values - see the "setup" page on my site, URL
  below)

Result:	CM 5555 - CM 5500 9,5:8,5 (+5 =9 -4)

Details:

Get the PGN file and filter out by "Round = 10" to get the games.
