I think you'd do just fine repeately beating the hell out of some old weak unit
like a Chess Challenger 7.  You can pick up positional niceties by reading
books.  But if you are a 1200 player, you are probably making tactical mistakes,
and you'd gain a lot just by getting whacked in the forehead whenever you drop a
pawn.  Any computer can do this for you, but you want one that you can clobber
if you *don't* drop pawns.
