I agree that the opening choice did not cause his loss, but I once played the english myself and I distinctly remember looking at 6. .. Bd7?! and finding it a bit dubious. Speaking of dubious have you ever analyzed the variation 1. e4 e5 2. d4 exd4 3. Qxd4 Nc6 4. Qe3 Nf6 5. e5 Ng4 6. Qe4 d5 7. exd6+ Be6 8. Ba6 Qxd6 9. Bxb7 Qb4+ 10. Qxb4 Nxb4 11. Na3 Rb8 12. Bf3 I dont know if 8. Ba6 is a novelty or if it has actually been played or if it is a novelty. It seems like something one might play against a computer in a standards game. Regards Dan Andersson
