I'm certainly no expert, but for me Windows 98 was very stabile, but also rather
bloated. My favorite was Windows for Workgroups sitting on Dos 6.22 because my
old computer originally came with 90mhz and 24mb mem, and it was really fast
running WFW. WFW never once crashed, never. But all the Chess programs were
being written for 32 OS like Win95. 95 wasn't so good, by 1999 new browsers
were crashing that one all the time.

That same computer needed 64mb mem to run not so fast with Windows98, that's
gotta tell you something.

But at least Win98 was stabile, almost never crashed.
