Regarding your questions:

1. Version 1.0.0 of Chessmaster 8000 assumes a 30-ply depth for the book. The
patch will allow the user to specify ANY depth (up to 40 plies, I believe).

2. The Chessmaster book is intended to be a combination of an all-inclusive book
(the ability to know all lines well, both popular and historical, for the users
who enjoy it), and a book tuned for the playing style of The King. The latter
half of this is where the current book falls down, in my opinion.
