Are you making the assumption that, since he is old, he doesn't keep up with the times about chess? GM Evans is currently in his late 60's, which isn't THAT old, and he is just finishing a chess book AND he was a commentator on the recent World Championships. So, he appears to be keeping up to date.... jm
