Subject: WinBoard 4.2beta and Crafty18.1

Has any else been having problems with Crafty18.1 and WinBoard 4.2 beta (under
W98)? I guess the problem is with my code or perhaps WinBoard, but I seem not
to be receiving the end of line from WinBoard’s output.

WinBoard debug file:

3460 <second: Crafty 18.1 vs Searcher5.0alpha
3460 <first :
3460 <first : move g1f3
3460 >second: time 60000
otim 60000
3460 >second: g1f3
3460 >second: go
3630 <second: move d5
Interrupting first
3630 >first : time 60000
otim 59983
3630 >first : d5GameEnds(0, (null), 2) <------------
Interrupting first
15660 >first : force
15660 >first : ping 1
15660 >second: force
15660 >second: ping 2
15660 >first : quit
15660 >second: quit

Input record by my program:

White(1): Nf3
text in = time
text in = otim
text in = d5force <--------------------
text in = ping
text in = quit

ie I seem to be receiving d5 without the “\n”.

My input routine simply uses cin >> text
And has worked well previously.

Any tips on the problem would be appreciated.

Frank
