I'm not sure that you can suppress himem.sys (or whatever XMS driver Win ME uses now), which would AFAIK be neccessary to have Hiarcs 7 DOS allocating large hash tables. I assume you know that you must use the parameter -x when starting Hiarcs (or /x, I don't know it exactly at the moment). I have successfully tested the Windows ME start disk to go into Real DOS, together with Mchess Pro 7.01 only - but this cooperates with himem.sys, so I can't comment about Hiarcs 7 DOS.
