Only when the program is using a prepare book line, like in the case against GM
Van Der Wiel where jerome prepare a special book line against 1.a3 etc...

GM Van Der Wiel would have beaten Rebel Century3 using its default Opening Book.

I only agree that programs like Deep Fritz, Shredder 5 and Rebel Century 3 might
be closed to IM strength if they use their default opening books. If Shredder5
and Deep fritz are allowed to prepare a special opening books, like in the Rebel
Century 3 match one month prior, I would not doubt that either of these two
programs would have scored much better than Rebel did. In another word, Rebel
would have scored much worse than it did, if it wasn't for Jerome special Book
lines against GM Van Der Wiel.
