I was wondering how fast Crafty ran on older machines. I just compiled and ran Crafty 14.10 and achieved the following results. EPD Kit revision date: 1996.04.21 6 tablebase file(s) found in the TB directory. Crafty v14.10 White(1): bench Running benchmark -- this will take approximately six minutes. ...... Total nodes: 5424665 Nodes per second: 15068 NPS relative to Pentium Pro/200: 0.18 This was run on an original PowerPC 7100/ 66 mhz (PPC 601) with 32mb total ram, system 8.1, extensions off. Not G3 speeds, but still a good machine. William wbryant@ix.netcom.com
