well, first of all, it must be said that comps play completely different then IMs or GMs - but in last some games and tournaments against humans they have, with something that looks like chess, What do you mean Computers play a different kind of Chess? Since sytles vary from people, to people, and machine to machine, Chess is Chess, the rules are the same. Programs don't all play the same, they vary among themselves just like humans. Personally I see little difference, other than the fact that Computers are far more accurate in calculation, which I guess gives the impression that they play differently. Chess is Chess the same rules that govern humans also govern computers. Your statement that computers play a different kind of chess is really meaningless, since we all differ in how we play chess. There are many humans that are just as boring, or just as tactically gifted as computers, Should we say they play a different kind of chess also?
