Therefore, I have not tried to compile in SMP mode to see if the SMP library stuff is compatible with the MacOS X implementation of SMP. It should be, but you never know. If you want to try it, contact me and I'll tell you the minor pitfalls to get Crafty to compile. Of note, creating an OS X binary will be as easily as recompiling using the OS X library stuff instead of the older Mac OS stuff. It will then require Carbon lib 1.0.4 to run on a non-OS X machines. Therefore, I haven't compiled it for OS X, yet. Both Screamer and Crafty should easily become OS X applications when the need arises. What I really need (read want) now is a new computer. I am hoping the PPC chip will break the 500mhz barrier, so I have no plans to purchase one soon. Although, the 500mhz G3 laptops are getting awful cheep relatively speeking. Screamer now has PGN export support than imports seamlessly into ExaChess. What it needs is pondering and server support. Yes, it is still at the top of my list to do. But birthdays (4 then 2 year so age), and especially work sap away all my free time so it is, as always, a work in progress. William wbryant@ix.netcom.com
