Subject: Scid 2.2 (free chess database app) available

Hi all,

Version 2.2 of Scid (a free chess database application for Unix operating
systems which also runs fairly well in Windows) is now available from the
usual website,

          http://members.nbci.com/sghudson/

New features in 2.2 include:

  - The beginnings of multiple-language support. Most menus (and some
messages) are now available in German, French, Spanish and Polish.
A lot of Scid is still "English-only", but that will change in time...

  - A new "opening report" feature which presents interesting facts about
an opening and an ECO-style theory table. It can be saved in text,
     HTML or LaTeX format.

  - Many small user interface improvements.

  - Now released with a GPL licence; previous releases had a non-standard
(slightly more restrictive, definitely more confusing) licence.

Feedback is most welcome.

Cheers,
Shane
