Thinking Lines (continuous analysis), and 2. Game Analysis (especially this!) The altered HT size and other parameter changes should be reflected at the top of the Thinking Lines window or the Game Analysis output--if by using a custom personality, simply indicating the name of personality that is in use would be satisfactory. The unofficial method of substituting a custom personality for the default Chessmaster personality (see other poster, below) sounds like it would work, but it would be cumbersome, and subject to accidental loss of the original default parameters under some circumstances. And if the output didn't note in some way the changed parameters, it would be possible to produce non-default analysis without knowing/remembering the switch, or whether it had been resored to the default. RATIONALE: My favorite use of a chess program is to do 'overnight' analysis when sleeping or at work, giving as many seconds per move as possible to the engine. This is to obtain the strongest possible analysis within the available total time. The ability to do game analysis for many seconds per move is great, but the hash table limitation means it is 'crippled' to some degree, when RAM is available. Also, there are some positions where I want to see the program analyze by seeking or avoiding a draw (where the draw parameter is strongly altered, one way or the other). It would be wonderful to be able to adjust this parameter and analyze on the fly (Thinking Lines) as well as overnight (Game Analysis). Thanks for considering these points in some future update or revision. --Steve
