Jeroen and all readers,

All joking aside... Fritz6 users and contest-host will want a naming
convention for this version. In the past I was aware of Fritz6 (OLD), Fritz6a,
and Fritz6b. However I could be out of sync here, sometimes it's hard to stay
current. If group consensus determines this engine to be Fritz6e (or whatever)
that is ok by me.

I would like to point out that the latest release (english version anyway) is
the first one that I know of that contains a Version Info table. It states that
this is version: 6.0.0.74 I would like to see version info become a standard
for all ChessBase hosted engines, especially if it is not implied by the engines
filename.

Topic change:
I do have some tactic results to share. These results of course do not
necessarily translate to game play strenght.

Test Set: Tactics Marathon, Marathon.cbh as supplied on the Fritz6 CD-ROM

Fritz6a-64MB Hash/733-PIII
Result: 190 out of 210 = 92% Average time: 42 seconds

Fritz6(e?)-64MB Hash/733-PIII
Result: 194 out of 210 = 92% Average time: 52 seconds

Fritz5.32-64MB Hash/733-PIII
Result: 188 out of 210 = 89% Average time: 35 seconds

I've heard/read that Nimzo 8 is even better (higher percent and lower time) at
this particular test. Best Wishes, Br5an
