There is no computer playing at Corus 2001 in Wijk aan Zee tournament. This is a Category 19 tournament. This would be good test for chess programs. Any program that wins this tournament could claim to be the strongest program. This is an invitational tournament. The Corus organizers would invite a computer if a computer chess company would increase the prize fund. If it wins it would be great advertising for the program. Have any of the commercial programs tried to enter Corus 2001? So far the best performance by a computer is 2700 Fide by Deep Junior at Dortmund 2000. A computer winning the Corus 2001 would be an even better performance.
