Subject: Here's why I'm glad its Chess Tiger in Paderborn

It is tough to post on this without saying something negative about
my favorite program, Gambit Tiger. And, my testing isn't definitive,
either. However, to make a long story short, I think that against
computers, you must be stricter about giving away pawns.
What I see on my antique PII-300, at the time control 5 3, between
Gambit Tiger and Crafty 18.1, makes me terrified at the thought of my
beautiful Gambit Tiger being humiliated by one of those mindless,
bean-counting brutes. (I'm one who believes that some programs are
relatively better at slower time controls, or on faster hardware.)

I'm certain that the programmer will send the better program for the
job.

To see the full flowering of Gambit Tiger's genius, let me recommend
again the games of Sharpattack on ICC. (Regardless of the rating plus
or minus right now.) It plays only humans.
