I stumbled onto the specs for the new Mac's on the Apple website. They price for a G3 laptop dropped dramatically, when I went to the site to check on it, they were gone. Now what you see is the new machines, I suspect announced at MacWorld Expo. The new G4 is up to 766mhz -- still a far cry from 1ghz, with a 256k L2 (down from 1 MB) and a 1 MB L3. I wonder if the catch was part of the speed problem? Why else move from L2 to L3? William wbryant@ix.netcom.com
