Subject: Tascbase 2.0 and Matrox Mystique

Author: F. Jermann

I have a problem with Tascbase 2.0 and my Matrox Mystique graphics
adapter.

a) The matrox DOS driver doesn't provide the 480x640 VGA-resolution at
16 colours! Programs like REBEL work fine (80 Hz refresh rate), but TB2
is displayed at lousy 60 Hz refresh rate (no VESA mode).

b) The 800x600 resolution (16 colours) is a VESA compatible mode, but is
not displayed correctly. The picture is shifted to the left within the
video signal! So it is not possible to correct the position with the
monitor settings. (The same effect can be seen with Scitechs Disply
Doctor at 800x600 at 16 colors.)

c) The program doesn't run in a DOS Window using Windows 95 (1024x768,
16 bit colour res.).

My Questions:

Has someone a solution for problem (a)?

Is problem (b) a bug of my graphics card or is it a bug in the bios of
all cards?

Is there any possibility to run the program in a DOS-Window?

I would be very, very grateful for some help.
