Hi guys, I've just installed (min. install) CM8k, to my 2nd harddrive D:\games\CM8k. No matter what level I set it at, it moves instantaneously, even after out of book. (The CD's in the drive) Set it at Infinite & it shows nothing in the "thinking lines" box (except once when it said 1024 positions depth 3, but showed no lines - I can't get it to repeat that). At Infinite The "Visual thinking" shows 3ply & stays there. I've used CM6k a lot, so I know what I'm doing (sort of) ie. I set side to move as computer, I try "Wake up", the clock's ticking & it moves when I "force" it to, but The Engine's not thinking. The book doesn't help, help doesn't help (it's a reprint of the book). Help me guys, I want the King to analyse a position. Haa Tina Long
