Yes it is. As in many debates, a great deal of discussion just arises from
differente definitions of words. Words are like carriers, in this case of
meanings that are more de dangerous when they are unconcious. By Example, many
people say comps have not planning capabilities because they unsconsciously
thinks plans in the manner human do, that is, with conscience of doing it. Also,
many people consider automatically that plans are necesarily looking VERY far
ahead, but in fact you can play a best chess if you jump from middle span plan
to another one of the same sort. In fact long range plans are scarce. The middle
path is something better than just calculate a line of moves, but less that to
make almost a metaphisical eval of the board. UIn this middle level sense, yes,
comps do makes plan.
