If you would write a letter to someone you do not know well, personally,
you would not make jokes, and when you write to someone who knows you
personally and well, he/she would understand your humor.

Here (Internet/Usenet) we talk to strangers, even from other cultures,
and know next from nothing about the others. So humor recognition is a problem.

That was easy. Next question? ;-)
