But in this case i don't see the real problem. There are many
strong programs and when you would have joined Aegon in the past
like i did, and played in between rounds many games against several
russian programs, then you would know like me that openingsbooks of
those russian programs are more than ok.

See how Kasparov today destroyed Shirov, it's one big walking
book this Kasparov...

Anyway, that drastically improves the chance of an amateur to win
from a commercial prog like shredder.

On the other hand the chance you get such a line in a world championship
is pretty small, as shredder will be a different and improved engine
then, so not making the same mistakes, and there will be a new book,
not to mention new tuning.

The place to proof things is in a worldchampionship and in the big
tournaments!

Home cooked things i don't care that much for, but i'm always amazed
about the disbelief that it can happen.

Any 2350 player can beat a 2550 player easily if that 2550 player
plays in the exactly same way for quite a long time.

Now usually a 2550 player learns and is not stupid, but a program
sure is. Then 200 rating points difference get a lot smaller and
any result is possible. If that 2550 player keeps copying his
games and keeps playing the EXACT same move, then he's history for
sure.

We have seen that proven 1000s of times at SSDF now. Who cares?

Greetings,
Vincent
