I don't mean to throw a monkey wrench to these calculations, but in other parts of the world (especially latin countries) you have different versions of checkers, in which a King moves very much like a bishop. This would raise the number of possible moves for checkers, but not as much as chess possible moves. Regards, Jorgeo :)
