Go up one level in this thread

:-) !!!

>(winner: Nimzo)?

Andreas ! I know how strong Nimzo98 is. THIS IS NOT THE POINT !
I did not knew it in PARIS because I got my nimzo98 december 22nd !
But i knew about the strength shortly after i got it. This was not
difficult to find out.

On the other hand I have Fritz5 for a long time, and I have a different
opinion about Fritz5 strength than I have concerning Nimzo98.

>I think you are very "selective" when you try to prove your opinion.

The problem is : WHEN fritz5 is that strong, why didn't we found out
about ?
Why didn't you tell me before. Or Peter Schreiner. Or any other guy
HAVING FRITZ at home ?
All i remember is that I send Ed an email telling him that Rebel8/9 has
problems against Fritz5/Nimzo98. This was a long time before Nimzo98 and
Fritz5 was rated anyway and I did not think about that it could have had
something to do with the STRENGTH of both programs. I thought Fritz5 or
Nimzo98 or in general: fast searchers make Rebel8/9 problems. But now it
looks different. Now it looks that Nimzo or Fritz are a problem because
they are stronger.
I can accept this for Nimzo98 BECAUSE Wels/dutch championship and
Paderborn speak fit together. BUT FRITZ ????? No evidence !
Anybody of us HAS fritz5.
Are we all blind ?
No - there is a mistake somewhere.
Lets wait until we see the games.

>Maybe there was a contra-Nimzo/Fritz conspiracy in Paris???

I am not Tueschen ! :-)

>I don't understand why you start rambling and raving whenever a program
>you don't really like gets a good rating.

You don't understand this ? :-)
I think it looks pretty understandable and human like !! :-)

>Fritz5 is a very good program
>and deserves the ranking.

Pah ! :-)

>So your feelings told you so.... Sometimes feelings can be wrong. I
>wonder, if you are joking, really! These are not the X files, it is
>simply testing of programs.

:-) !!!

No - there IS a reason fritz5 is rated this high. And it is not the
playing strength !
Let us see.

>I know why Goran stopped his work. It was _not_ because he does not
>believe in the SSDF list any more. He had totally differnet reasons. But
>he also got tired of answering the same boring, insulting and stupid
>accusations again and again and again. Accusations like yours.

My accusations are still serious. As long as they don't throw out the
doublettes the whole idea of testing the playing strength is cheated.

>>NO Fritz version was EVER 170 ELO points stronger than the predecessor !

>And this means that it impossible? No Nimzo version was EVER 100 points
>stronger than the predecessor. So what? Instead of praising the Fritz5
>programmers for doing such a good work, you start shouting. This is sad.

There is no 170 ELO jump !
We would have recognized this directly after the program appeared. But
we did not.
Now it is an easy job to congratulate !
Fritz5 is out for a long long time !
Where were the congratulations IF it was really that strong !
No - I am honest !
I thought Fritz5 is exactly THAT strong as it played in Paris !
So I was completely sure that it IS that strong after I saw the "nice"
games against "kulinauten" in Paris.

>Sorry, but the only nonsense I see is your post....

Depends !
