One of the features that the present GNU has which I think is a good feature is that if the combined number of trapped, pinned, or hung pieces is greater than one, it may extend the search by one ply (with certain limits on total extensions.) In playing against my program, GNU is always pinning, trapping, or causing my pieces to hang due to multiple threats. Anyway, I think it is a good feature to have. I'm sure Crafty has something like it? --Stuart
