To be even more precise, Fritz doesn't use the tablebases when it detects i.e. 5
piece tablebases, but just misses the one it wants to use. So in this case if
you delete/rename/move the KRBKQ tablebases, the problem happens.

I checked this in two ways with our problem position 8/k7/8/2R5/8/4q3/8/4B2K w.

1. I have a folder with all 3+4 piece TBs installed, and copied the KBBBK
tablebases to it. Result: Fritz did not use them because it coult not find
KRBKQ.

2. I have a folder with all 3+4+5 piece TBs installed, but deleted KRBKQ.
Result: The sameas above, Fritz did not use them.

So to avoid strange side effects, you have to use a complete set (3 and/or 4
and/or 5) tablebases with Fritz6/Deep Fritz.

Ernst.
