I personaly have not idea about >Delphi at all. Delphi is the Windows version of Pascal. It's excellent for chess programming! When it comes to speed of EXE it's in the same ballpark as C and MUCH faster than VB. It's also much easier to learn than C and the development times seem to be faster. I also think it's easier to read and maintain but that's ny opinion. I've written a chess program in Delphi although it does play chess it's still very much a work in progress. Other Delphi programs apart from XiniX are Ikarus (probably the strongest), Crux and Holmes. Regards, Steve
