I agree. I'm not a strong chess player, and I think it helps me to have
a sane approach when I try to add knowledge in my program.
I used to believe that my lack of positional knowledge would, sooner or
later, prevent me from improving Tiger's style of play.
But I now have concerns about this. It seems that it is not the case.
And as I have to be very careful when I add any kind of knowledge, I am
forced to immediately play many games to get real data about the
improvement, if there is one. I don't trust my experience as a player.
If I was a strong player, I would say: "this is good for me, so my
program has to know about it". And I would trash it with the kind of
stupid superstitious knowledge most of chess players have.
