They're free for the download (most of them are), so is Winboard.  Here's the

If you have not used Winboard before, engines like Comet or AnMon or Little
Goliath or The Crazy Bishop are all very strong, when you're comfortable with
Winboard, you gotta have Crafty, but it's a bit harder to set up if you've never
done it before.

Seems like every week or 2 someone releases a new Winboard engine.  By now I
tend to stay with the ones that have been around for years, but if you're
adventurous, there's allways a new Winboard engine to try, kind of cool that
way.
