I would prefer different words: 1. Fritz is stronger when it has enough hash tables. Every byte you give it will be appreciated. Thank you. 2. Although its performance is hampered when it hits the "hash barrier", it (of course!) still profits from longer pondering times and still plays very well (after all, the 44 MB used at the SSDF are "gone" after 90-120 seconds ...). 3. But if you wish to see "Fritz the beast" at its best: Give it 128 MB hash tables. You will be rewarded by an *even better* performance (Fritz with "only" 32 MB hash tables doesn't play *that* bad, after all ...). 4. If you want to give it a *fair* chance: Use a reasonable (i.e. affordable and not uncommon) hardware setting, use a 64 MB machine with 44 MB hash tables. Not the best for Fritz (128 MB HT would be) but also not the worst case (512 KB hash tables and disabled permanent brain like in past SSDF Fritz 4.01 games ...). 5. Buy Hiarcs 6 and Rebel 9. You will like them even if you own Fritz. Is this enough, Thorsten? ;-) Moritz
