Hi: My normal way of testing chess programs is playing against them as if they were produced for us, human players, what a weird thing, don't you believe? Well, in my 200 MMX with 32 Mb hash I give around 24 Mb to F5 in order to avoid problems that sometimes comes when you give him more and my impression is that I have a lot less problems to draw Fritz 5 that any other top program. That does not means F5 is weak. Is strong and sometimes very strong, but there are a lot of positions when he goes astray, specially hampered, blockaded ones. He does not know what to do and he begins to messing around at the pont I have drawed just waiting the 50 movements without capture rules to apply. But, anyway, what a heck matter if Fritz 5 is more or less strong than, say, Mchess 7 if anyway is a hell of strong and so well designed? But, of courtse, I am not a GMI as some people here seems to be according the way the qualufy this or that program as "weak". Fernando
