Here is the size after gzip -9 for all the files:
02/01/2001 04:26p 138,196,267 junkbase.sg.gz
02/01/2001 04:27p 54,938,748 junkbase.si.gz
02/01/2001 04:27p 4,519,463 junkbase.sn.gz
               3 File(s) 197,654,478 bytes

And here is the bzip file size:
01/30/2001 03:31p 131,824,621 junkbase.sg.bz
01/30/2001 03:36p 50,660,956 junkbase.si.bz
01/30/2001 03:31p 3,734,485 junkbase.sn.bz
               3 File(s) 186,220,062 bytes

And Here is the bzip2 file size:
02/01/2001 02:39p 131,274,889 junkbase.sg.bz2
02/01/2001 02:41p 50,939,361 junkbase.si.bz2
02/01/2001 02:42p 3,736,896 junkbase.sn.bz2
               4 File(s) 186,114,986 bytes
Hmm... only saved 100K from bzip to bzip2, not one meg like I thought before.
But it is 10 megs smaller than gzip, which might save someone a few nickels if
they have to download over the phone line (and they are nutso enough to download
behemoth files anyway).
