I tested Fritz6 and after 30+ min. on a P-III 500 on infinite analysis it gave
two main lines.
The first line was 1. cxb5...Bb7 2. Rdd1...c4 3. Ba4!...Rd8 4. b6+!...Bc6
5. Re7+...Rxe7 6. dxe7+...Kxe7 7. Rxd8...Kxd8 8. bxa7! ( better than Bxc6 )..Ba8
9. Bc2! and Bxg6! can't be stopped.

The second line started with Bxg6!!? as in the Main Line you give.
It appears 1. cxb5 is actually the best move! A shame as the combination
starting with Bxg6 was very pretty but not the best.

I believe all top programms will choose 1. cxb5 over Bxg6.
