Hi all, I wonder if anyone is familiar with the 'guard heuristic'. I came across a chessprogram that seems to be using it, but I've never heard about this before. It seems to have appeared in ICCA, followed by a comment by Schaeffer, but I didn't find anything usefull on the web.
