With TBs, it will probably the easiest for many chess programs to fint the mate
in 25. Yace sees immediately the following:
339 0.187 Mat25 2t 1.Qf7+ Kxf7 {EGTB} 2.Kb2! Ke6! 3.Kc3! Kd5!
4.Kd3! Ke5! 5.Kc4! Ke6 6.Kd4! Kf5! 7.Kd5! Kf6
8.Ke4! Kf7 9.Kxf4! Ke6! 10.Ke4 Kf6 11.f4! Ke6!
12.f5+ Kf6 13.f3 Kf7 14.Ke5! Kg7 15.f6+ Kf7
16.Kf5! Kf8! 17.Ke6! Ke8! 18.f7+ Kf8! 19.f4!
Kg7 20.Ke7! Kg6 21.f8=Q! Kh7! 22.Qe8 Kg7!
23.Qh5 Kg8 24.Kf6! Kf8 25.Qh8# {1081}
and soon after this a slightly shorter mate
8733 0.791 Mat23 5t 1.Kb2 Kg8 2.Qg7+ Kxg7 {EGTB} 3.Kc3! Kg6 4.Kd3
Kf5! 5.Kd4! Kf6 6.Ke4! Kf7 7.Kxf4! Ke6! 8.Ke4
Kf6 9.f4! Ke6! 10.f5+ Kf6 11.f3 Kf7 12.Ke5! Kg7
13.f6+ Kf7 14.Kf5! Kf8! 15.Ke6! Ke8! 16.f7+
Kf8! 17.f4! Kg7 18.Ke7! Kg6 19.f8=Q! Kh7!
20.Qe8 Kg7! 21.Qh5 Kg8 22.Kf6! Kf8 23.Qh8#
{1081}
Again a little bit shorter:
50206 1.424 Mat22 7t 1.Kb2 Kg8 2.Kc2 Kf8 3.Qf7+ Kxf7 {EGTB} 4.Kd3!
Kg7 5.Ke4! Kf7 6.Kxf4! Ke6! 7.Ke4 Kf6 8.f4!
Ke6! 9.f5+ Kf6 10.f3 Kf7 11.Ke5! Kg7 12.f6+ Kf7
13.Kf5! Kf8! 14.Ke6! Ke8! 15.f7+ Kf8! 16.f4!
Kg7 17.Ke7! Kg6 18.f8=Q! Kh7! 19.Qe8 Kg7!
20.Qh5 Kg8 21.Kf6! Kf8 22.Qh8# {1081}
And then, after less then 10 seconds
926090 6.832 Mat06 11t 1.Kb2 Kg8 2.Kc3 Kh8 3.Kd4 Kg8 4.Ke5 Kf8 5.Kf6
Ke8 6.Qe7# {1081}
Is it very unhuman, to go for a winning position, that you are certain, that you
will win? Perhaps you have some position, that you can force to trade to say
KBNK, and you know, that you will be abel to win this. Is it bad? Even, when you
could have mated in 10 moves, but now, you will need almost 40 moves. I don't
think so ...

Dieter
