1)They want to play 1.Qf7+ only if they have not the KQPP vs K tablebases

2)Computers can find shorter mate and play it even at blitz.
They do not have to play the first mate that they find.
Playing the first mate that they find is the choice of the programmers and not
of the tablebases.

3)I do not agree that 1.Qf7+ is an ugly move to play.
There is no rule in chess that says that the target is to win in less moves.

4)I believe that some humans will play 1.Qf7+

I can tell you a story about it.
IM ofer bruk that is known as a positional player was asked if he sacrificed a
queen in his life.

He replied that he sacrified 5 queens in one of his games and said that
sacrificing another queen was a draw but he was careful not to sacrifice another
queen.
