The following positions are from my last tournament game(yesterday). [D]3b4/p7/8/4kPp1/P2p2P1/3K2P1/8/8 b - - 0 1 After 44...Kd5 45.a5 [D]3b4/p7/8/P2k1Pp1/3p2P1/3K2P1/8/8 b - - 0 1 After 45...a6 46.Kc2 [D]3b4/8/p7/P2k1Pp1/3p2P1/6P1/2K5/8 b - - 0 1 After 46...Bxa5 47.Kd1 [D]8/8/p7/b2k1Pp1/3p2P1/6P1/8/3K4 b - - 0 1 I believe that chess programs can find a forced mate in all of thess positions Crafty17.14 could find that 47...d3 is a mate in 14 in the last case after enough time. I will use chessmaster6000 to check if it can see a forced mate but I know that chessmaster is better in finding mates in the middlegame and not in the endgame so I am not optimistic that it is going to do better than other programs. I played 47...Bd8 and my opponent resigned 1)How much time does your program need to find a forced mate in these positions? 2)Do the 5 piece tablebase help to see the mate faster? I was sure in 100% in the game that there is a forced mate in less than 30 moves only by static evaluation(it was not important for me to find the fastest way to win). Uri
