Since a question that often is posted to this messageboard is : "Is there a way to search CCC archives ?" and the answer is a loud "NO" I've written a program to do exactly this. Now to the crux of the problem : I can't find a machine to run this program. All I need is a linux (or unix) machine permanently connected to Internet. The needed bandwidth shouldn't be very large and CPU consumption should be low according to my guestimates. Memory consumption : about 20 Mb for the search index. And now I ask you, the people who - like myself - find CCC a very useful discussion list : is there a need for a search page of CCC archives ? If the answer is yes, can you help me find a machine to run this ? Do you know someone who could help me with this ? Or perhaps nobody is interested in searching the archives, which the fact that nobody answered my first announcement might suggest. In which case I apologize for taking your time with those posts.
