Nowhere does he claim that it plays chess poorly. That is your interpretation alone. There's no discrepancy between noting improvable weaknesses and a good tournament result. The lines quoted by Martin explains that point very clearly. It would be much worse if he said that Gambit Tiger didn't need to improve anything given the result. Constructive criticism is always good IMO. And that is what Wegner offers. Mogens.
