I asked the same question about CM8000, a while ago. One can create new
personalities and set the hash table size as a parameter for each such
personality.

But my question did not end there. I wanted to know how to do Game Analysis or
continuous analysis (Thinking Lines) using increased hash table size (not the
default Chessmaster 1MB size). Game Analysis (and maybe Thinking Lines, not
sure) is *only* done with the default Chessmaster personality, which has a
fixed, small hash table size.

A poster suggested creating a custom personality and saving it in place of the
default Chessmaster personality file. I did that and it works fine.

On my computer, under c:\Program Files\Chessmaster 8000\Personalities\ there are
many files with .CMP extension (Chess Master Personality). Included there you
will find the original Chessmaster.CMP default file, and any customer
personality files you create.

I created Chessmaster#64 and Chessmaster#128 personalities, with indicated hash
table sizes. I saved the default (original) Chessmaster.CMP file as
ChessmasterOriginal.CMP or some such name, in case I want to restore it in the
future, then saved Chessmaster#64.CMP as Chessmaster.CMP.

Now my default Chessmaster personality has the increased hash table size of
64MB. This larger hash table is in effect both during Game Analyze and during
continuous analysis (Thinking Lines)--and, I never have to load a custom
personality.

A simple solution that seems to work fine for my purposes.
