Somehow, either you got a different CHESSMASTER.EXE file than the one that is on the CD, or your file got changed, because your copy of that file that the patch is trying to modify is different from what it is expecting. What are the specs of your Chessmaster.exe file (date, time, size, attributes, etc.)? Is that file read-only? Where did you get your copy of the game? jm
